Melissa (Manager/Barber/Stylist)

Walk into our shop on any given day, and you’ll be greeted by this firecracker! Melissa has a bubbly and contagious personality, which rivals any barber or stylist you have met! Cutting hair for over 12 years, she loves a good scissor cut or beard work. She began her career with her stylist license, and continued her education; receiving her Barber’s license in 2022. Her biggest supporter is her son Mattox, as evidenced by her wrist tattoo. She loves to travel, loves summer, and loves her job! We’re sure you will love her too!

Braden (Assistant Manager / Barber)

Growing up in California, Braden moved to Idaho 17 years ago. He enjoys the outdoor life that Idaho has to offer, immersing himself in snowboarding, skating, rock climbing and hiking. He attended Fashion Design School, then Barber College before deciding that cutting hair was his forte’. His favorite cuts are mullets and long hair, and he’s quite a pro at cutting razor designs.

In his personal life he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, and his dog “Milo”. You might also find him “thrifting”, looking for the best bargains around town.

Elena (Barber/Stylist)

Elena, a native of Boise, enjoys the great outdoors of Idaho. When she is not cutting hair she spends her summers paddleboarding, and her winters skiing the slopes of Bogus. She loves to hike with her two German Shepherds; Daegan and Gunner. Long term goals include traveling the world, and seeing as many countries as she can!

Behind the chair, she loves servicing her clients and listening to their wants and needs to create the perfect cut. After receiving her Cosmetology license, she continued developing her skills for her Barber certification.

Larue (Barber/Stylist)

Born and raised in Tri Cities Washington, Larue moved to Idaho in 2010. She received her Cosmetology license in 2012 and her barber’s license in 2017. Larue specializes in razor fades and beards! Larue first joined us in 2020 but left soon after Covid. She rejoined us in 2023 and we are pleased to have her back! In her free-time she dabbles in photography, enjoys concerts, and has several side hobbies. Ask Larue if she’s up for a “road trip” and she’s the first one to hop in the car!

John (Barber)

Former owner of Eagle Barber Shop, John found his new “Barber’s Chair” at Bolder Barbershop, after Eagle Barber Shop was forced to close. John has been barbering for over 8 years. He received his Barber’s license from Boise Barber College and his favorite cuts include classic tapers and kids cuts.

First and foremost, he values time with his family as a top priority. John and his wife Elyse reside in Nampa with their 4 boys and their dog Gus, an Aussiedoodle. As a sports enthusiast, his favorite teams include the Baltimore Ravens and Idaho Steelheads. On a quiet day he enjoys writing and video games.

Jaron (Barber)

Recently joining our team, after graduating Barber College in Houston in 2015. He moved to Boise in 2018. Jaron specializes in Military cuts (yes, high and tight), Fades and clipper cuts. Before your haircut he will provide you with a full consultation and if interested, will discuss new trends and styles. He ensures a high standard of customer satisfaction by providing quality haircuts.

Jaron is an Air Force veteran who focused on IT services as Cisco Network Engineer during his four years in the service. He currently resides in Boise with his wife and three children.

Tara (Stylist/Cosmetologist)

Growing up in Oceanside, California, Tara’s upbringing was shaped as a military brat due to her father's posting at Camp Pendleton. Her family's strong military lineage, with a grandfather who served in WWII and a grandmother who served as a military nurse, instilled in her a deep appreciation for service and sacrifice.

Growing up amidst the coastal vibes, Tara embraced the surfing culture and honed her skills on a longboard. In 2022, she and her husband made the move to Boise, captivated by its diverse landscapes and distinct seasons. They share their home with Scooby, a German Shepherd, and enjoy hiking, winter sports, and summer adventures.

Tara pursued her artistic passion by attending the Oceanside College of Beauty, embarking on a decade-long career in hair cutting. Specializing in military-style and professional cuts for businessmen, Tara brings precision and artistry to her craft.

Tony’s life journey spans continents, beginning in the Philippines and taking him to California at the age of ten. Eventually He traveled through various states like Texas and Utah before settling in Idaho. Married for 16 years, he and his wife have built a bustling household with four children, ranging from 12 to 17 years old. As a devoted family man, Tony finds joy in spending time with his kids and actively participating in their sports activities: encompassing a diverse range from rugby and softball to soccer. In his personal time Tony indulges in the world of video games, finding relaxation and enjoyment in the digital realm.

Beyond his family commitments, Tony has pursued a career in barbering, earning his degree from Boise Barber College and honing his skills over the past five years. His passion for his craft is evident in his love for a well-executed face shave, buzz cut, and his personal favorite being a textured mid to long haired gentleman’s cut. With a rich family life, a fulfilling career, and personal hobbies, Tony reflects diverse experiences and interests that shape his identity.

Brooke (Receptionist)

Brooke is an avid outdoors person that loves what Boise has to offer! During her 20’s she spent her summers rafting the Arkansas river in Colorado and working in the hospitality industry in the winter. She is an avid paddle boarder and spends as much time on the water, as possible. Camping, hiking and walking the trails with her dogs Charlie (a lovable Rottie) and Wilber (a chihuahua mix), have become a few of Brooke’s favorite past-times. She’s always up for a road-trip, loves to travel and if it includes an outdoor concert, even better!

Brooke joined us after being a “stay-at-home” mom for several years. Instead of tending to the kids now, she spends time in her garage “wood shop” or hanging with her bunnies in the garden.

Saige (Esthetician/Receptionist)

Meet Saige! She’s been in the beauty industry for over 9 years, focusing on cosmetic tattooing and slaying brows! She grew up in Boise and loves everything Idaho has to offer, from the fun downtown vibe, to getting away in the mountains. She loves spending time with her daughter Lottie, her cat Sushi and her dog, Paco. She enjoys drawing, sketching, going to shows, traveling and being the best person she can be.

Leslie (Receptionist)

Leslie has been the perfect “stay at home mom and wife” for the past two years, but recently decided to rejoin the workforce. She’s a mom of five children; 4 boys and a girl. As their biggest supporter and cheerleader, she spends most days attending their sports and other extracurricular activities.

When she finds the time, she loves traveling to the Oregon Coast, or McCall. Their family enjoys camping and swimming as well as occasional “dance parties” with the kids!

Graham (Receptionist)

Graham is a Junior in high school with a well-rounded personality, who finds joy in the company of family and friends. Born in Utah and raised in Idaho, he benefits from the abundant opportunities the state offers for outdoor activities. Embracing a diverse range of seasonal sports, Graham engages in skiing during the winter and enjoys biking, skating, and golfing in the summer. With a fun-loving personality and ambitious spirit, it will be a pleasure to witness Graham's growth, not only in high school but at Bolder Barbershop!
